Historical Africatown
The following photos were shot by Roland Freeman, a brilliant Black photographer who documented a lot of African American communities and events in those years. Nick Tabor was able to get these photos from the Wilson Library at UNC, which now has all of Freeman’s work. Thank you Nick for sharing these photos with us.
